Expression and intensity have been key to the Red Rope series - this piece is somewhat of a departure from the named theme as there is no actual red rope involved - instead the red is highlighting the physical sensation and intense lust-pain-feeling the figure is experiencing
I consider this a partner in some ways to Thud / Sting, as it also focuses on a figure undergoing something unseen, which is making the subject focus inwards. Once again the actual context is purposely missing, beyond the more obvious restraint furniture in this piece. I personally find this one more ambiguous, as we do not know what expression is on his face - pain or pleasure or overload or indeed, release.
