This painting continues the exploration of the negative space element from the prior one - Using the absence of a surrounding to focus the viewer entirely on the subject without the distractions of where or when this takes place. This series is becoming about submission, and one of the keys of 'subspace' tends to be focusing on what is happening, without thinking of the world beyond that.
The colour balance on this one definitely leaned heavily more into the red tone - both from implying the marks literally from what's happening, but also to evoke the passion and heat of the situation. The subjects' expression is half hidden - it is hard to read exactly how he feels, only that he is feeling a lot.
