An unusual piece - This was a commission, for an excellent friend who lives in Yokohama, Japan. This was, therefore, definitely driven by his desires: He provided a full moodboard of colours, images, concepts. The bright pink colour that defines this piece was bought specifically for the painting (though I suspect it will see more use in future!)
I was very pleased with how this worked out - we found a balance between my style and what he wanted. The impact marks and the pink ribbons for bondage were the biggest change from the source material, and definitely the strongest elements in the final painting. It was a fun challenge to work in new colours and themes than my usual.
