A commission: This was made for the person in red in the painting, from the person in green! It was a surprise, too. I worked with him to find a suitable inspiration that captured their closeness and their distinctive gear. I believe the original photograph this piece is based on was taken at a Darklands or Folsom festival!
I'm pleased with how this came out - I know both subjects, so this was a very tall order to produce. I think in the end I managed to capture them without drifting into the uncanny valley. The recipient was certainly pleased! It was an interesting experiment in applying my current style (contrasts, negative space) to a specific brief.
