Another piece of the red rope series - One of the first to really focus on the face (albeit still very obscured with rope!). The picture this was based on was incredibly tender and soft - I sought to recreate this, though it became rougher and more intense when the stark contrast and vibrant red colouring of the rope was worked into the image.
The near-anonymity of the subject despite how closely we see them was of special interest to me. The rope wound around the subject does not cover everything, but it does conceal incredibly effectively and isolates him from us. I wonder what he's thinking.
