This piece was back to my more standard style - strong contrast, rough paintwork implying detail rather than laying it out directly. It was a challenge - there's very little of the subject actually visible in this image, and some unusual soft reflections of light. Those softer, smoother gradients were a bit unexpected when working on this, however I feel they really gave focus to the rougher, implied sections.
I did originally plan for this to be stronger colourwise in the skin - reds and yellows as per some of my previous pieces. I am happy with how it actually turned out. The stark white of the clothing makes even the small amount of skintone show up more.
