Henry In Blue

Here's a rarity - this piece was one I found was finished pretty much after the first session working on it! The inspiration was, once again, a repeated subject (Boy with Book strikes again!) and in this case his source photo was a beautifully soft but sharp contrast of blue light in a dark space. I took those highlights for the main form of this painting.

I actually used up all of my remaining cerulean blue for this painting: It was composed of purely that blue, black and white. It's a slightly neon colour set to work with, though I feel the final piece ended up much softer than that implies. Very pleased with the form and by what you can't see being suggested by what you can.
