Oil on plywood
Color is not always my natural direction when I start, but the bright contrast of the swimwear against everything else in the original photograph really drew me. I really enjoyed the casual pose and the contrasts of bright and more subdued colors. The oil paint used really helps highlight this, as the blue is very vivid and a bit more textured than the rest.
The subject is a very good friend of mine, though I've held onto the painting myself for now.
