Pencil + Acrylic on Canvas

I decided to experiment with mixed media for this piece. Softer pencil tones were chosen to express the boy - skin, strongly lit but still inherently soft visually; then rubber, strongly lit and reflecting back in sharply defined pools: for this, the black and white of acrylic seemed best suited. The result really seperates the two halves of the image, for me. Is he putting on the rubber to become encased by it, or is he removing it like a shed outer shell? It's down to how you see it, really. Maybe he's just happy halfway in, halfway out, adjusting.
