Pen + Acrylic on card

I drew the pen part of this piece over a couple of lunchtimes at work. It's actually on the back of a spare COVID-19 results card. The source photograph is just as close and intimate as my piece shows - It's a lovely photograph. I really like the way that it's got that closeness and intimacy... despite the fact that eye contact is, obviously, impossible given the heavy black blindfold!

I chose black acrylic for the blindfold to really highlight the stark barrier it embodies against the rest of the image. The acrylic used was actually the Black 2.0 paint made by Stuart Semple. I really like using that paint! It definitely creates a proper void of black on a page - perfect for the seperation I wanted to convey here.
