This is easily my favourite of my pen drawings. I managed to get the balance of darker and lighter strokes just right on this one. Managing to suggest form (for example the out-of focus person behind the subject) without being too prescriptive or detailed is difficult to get right. I am also fascinated by how different people seem to see the image. To me it's really rather tender and yet also a bit tense. There's a sense that something is about to happen here, and I love it.
