One of my best acrylic paintings - I was definitely in full detail-oriented swing here. This painting feels very real to me - it's not photographic level, but I think it's as close as I can, or want to go to that. The colours and fabric textures of the original photograph appealed, and the way the background glared white around the subject.
I didn't realise I actually knew the boy in the photograph until quite some time after I'd painted this and sold it to a (different) friend! I guess in my defense, there's not that much of him visible.
