Gay Happily Ever After

I drew this based on a photograph from a queer-themed pantomime. It is not often that I encounter a queer fairy story - I had recently seen a retelling of Cinderella that recasts the princess as a gay young man in soho who falls in love with a British prince. As it ended (happily, of course) I sat crying, realising it was the first musical I'd seen up until then that centred a happily ever after for a gay character. The photo, though not from that production, really brought the theme to life for me - So I drew and painted my own version.
