Another piece inspired by theatre - the subject of this was a dress rehearsal photo of a ballet dancer in a production of Chess. The tension and line in the pose really called out to me, so I did a sketch version of this and then turned it into this final painting. The dancer was shown the painting by their teacher, though he never quite got around to finding out if the lad wanted the original or not.
