This was somewhat of an exercise in textures. Contrasting the fabric of a sock against the rubber of a trainer and against skin was the intent. I think it sort of worked, though the skin is far, far too smooth looking to me! There was something balletic about the pose in the original photograph. Sadly, I don't think I managed to convey that in the painting.
